Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive as the Foxes ‘held discussions’ about hiring former Club Brugge boss Carl Hoefkens
Leicester City have reportedly discussed hiring former Club Brugge boss Carl Hoefkens as their new manager.
The 44-year-old took Club Brugge to the last 16 of the Champions League last season, the first time they had made the knockout stages in their history. They finished above Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid in their group before being knocked out by Benfica.
The team were fourth in the league when his contract was terminated, a position that fell below the board’s expectations. He was replaced by former Fulham and Bournemouth boss Scott Parker.
Hoefkens’ achievements in the Champions League caught the eye, and reportedly spoke to West Brom back in February about being their manager. Leicester have now spoken about hiring him as the club’s new boss, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri
