Lionel Messi is officially leaving Paris Saint-Germain, will play his final game on Saturday
Lionel Messi is officially leaving Paris Saint-Germain after two years in the French capital.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner made a shock move to PSG in 2021 after leaving his beloved Barcelona on a free transfer and has scored 32 goals in 74 appearances.
Messi notched the winning goal that secured the Ligue One title for the second consecutive season following his strike in 1-1 draw with Strasbourg last weekend but as expected, he will not be staying put.
The Argentine ace's contract expires on June 30 and manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed his departure. Messi will therefore pull on the PSG shirt for the final time against Clermont on Saturday at the Parc des Princes and lift a second Ligue One title.
"I had a privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football," Galtier said in a press conference.
"It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont”.
