Jose Mourinho says Tottenham are the only club he doesn’t have feelings for after managing
Jose Mourinho has aimed a dig at Tottenham Hotspur by revealing they are the only club he doesn’t have a close bond with.
Mourinho has had nine different managerial jobs in his glittering coaching career, including three in England and Portugal, two in Italy and Portugal and one in Spain.
He’s currently enjoying his time at Roma, who he has guided to back-to-back European finals. Roma are in the Europa League final against Sevilla on 31 May, having won the Europa Conference League by beating Feyenoord last term and Mourinho becoming a triple crown champion as a result.
But in a recent press conference, the former Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss made it clear that he doesn’t think too fondly of Spurs.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs and was in charge of 17 months before being dismissed just before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City in 2021.
Ryan Mason took charge on an interim basis and it meant Mourinho had left a club without winning a major trophy for the first time in his career.
And the Portuguese manager has admitted he does not have a strong connection with Spurs largely because no fans were in attendance during his spell in charge.
“I have established a great bond with all the clubs I have coached,” Mourinho said.
